Our digital products which we’re building from the ground up are helping drive additional customer and revenue growth while maximizing operational efficiency, and ultimately play a role in how we’ll build the next generation of restaurants. We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Chief People Officer to lead all people operations as we rapidly scale Honest Greens both nationally and internationally. With significant growth on the horizon (currently >1000 employees), this role will be instrumental in driving our talent strategy, building a progressive, mission-driven culture, and enabling organizational success through people-centric initiatives.
Reporting directly to the Leadership team, you will oversee the entire employee lifecycle and lead an existing team of HR professionals. Your impact will be crucial in shaping our company culture, driving employee engagement, and positioning Honest Greens as an employer of choice in the competitive food and hospitality industry.
In this role you will:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy aligned with our business goals, encompassing talent acquisition, development, retention, and organizational design.
- Lead the evolution of our company culture, ensuring it remains progressive, mission-driven, and conducive to employee growth and engagement as we scale.
- Design and implement innovative talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent for both restaurant and HQ positions, with a focus on building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
- Create and oversee best-in-class training and development programs that foster continuous learning, leadership development, and career progression for all employees.
- Partner closely with restaurant operations leaders to understand their unique challenges and provide strategic HR solutions that drive business performance.
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives that enhance retention, particularly addressing the challenges of high turnover in the restaurant industry.
- Lead the design and implementation of performance management and succession planning processes that identify and nurture high-potential talent across the organization.
- Oversee the development of competitive compensation and benefits strategies that attract and retain top talent in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that permeate all aspects of our people practices and organizational culture.
- Leverage data analytics and HR technology to drive informed decision-making and measure the impact of people initiatives on business outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations across multiple geographies as we expand internationally.
What you need to be successful:
- 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a proven track record in both high-growth startups and established global companies, preferably in the hospitality, retail, or consumer-facing industries.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling people functions to support rapid business growth and international expansion.
- Strong expertise in talent strategy, organizational development, and culture-building in mission-driven organizations.
- Experience leading HR transformations and implementing innovative people practices that drive business results.
- Deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the food service or hospitality industries, particularly related to frontline employee engagement and development.
- Proven ability to operate as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, translating business needs into effective people strategies.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing HR teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Data-driven approach to HR, with experience leveraging analytics to inform strategy and measure impact.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
- Fluency in English and Spanish required; proficiency in additional European languages is a strong advantage.
- Advanced degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field preferred.
